John has enjoyed a long and successful career in Civil Engineering.
Having graduated in 1978 and after a period with Owen Williams he cut his geotech. teeth as a temporary works engineer on the Thames Barrier Project.
John went on to develop a career in specialist ground engineering sub-contracting with Cementation, Phi Group and Keller, achieving Chartered status along the way in 1988 and being appointed to the Keller UK Executive in 2006.
His standing within the sector results in regular requested for his contribution to technical standards and codes of practice including the Highways Agency BD68/97 on crib retaining walls and BS8006 Pt.2: 2011 Code of practise for strengthen and/reinforced soils.
In 2013 John was invited to take up an academic position at University College London where he was able to teach Geotechnical Engineering, with a practical dimension, to both their graduate and under-graduate cohorts.
